Breakfast Roundtable: Creating a Culture of Innovation in China
 

As part of AmCham China’s highly successful series on IP and innovation, AmCham China, the US Information Technology Office, and the Fordham University Law School invite you to listen to this dynamic panel discussing the progress that has been made in creating a culture of innovation in China, and challenges that remain.

This breakfast session will explore such topics as: Will China indeed become an innovative economy? Does China innovate in a different way from the United States? What is the role of the intellectual property system in China in fostering innovation? What role do foreign governments play? What has been the experience of Chinese research organizations, foreign-invested R&D enterprises and others in attracting, retaining and encouraging talent?

Dr. David O’Reilly, head of Syngenta Biotechnology China;
Hong Shen, partner, Long An law firm, co-author with John Orcutt, Shaping China’s Innovation Future;
Ulrike Tagschere, associate professor at the China Academy of Sciences, visiting from the Fraunhofer Institute, Munich; author of Regional Innovation Systems in China – An Analysis of Industry-Science Linkages in the Bohai Bay Area;

Yin Xintian, senior partner, Wan Hui Da Law Firm and Intellectual Property Agency, former spokesman and DG of legal affairs at SIPO;
