We are delighted to announce that Michael Hart has been appointed by the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China) Board of Governors as the next President of AmCham China, beginning March 15, 2022.
At the Board’s direction, recruitment firm Korn Ferry led a robust six-month search process, supervised by the Chamber’s Legal Counsel, Ashwin Kaja, to ensure proper corporate governance. A Presidential Search Committee was formed to assess the strong field of applicants, before the Board of Governors voted on the final candidates.
Michael is a long-time AmCham China member and has been involved with the Tianjin Chapter since before its merger with AmCham China in 2008, serving two terms as the Tianjin Chapter Chairman (2010-13 and 2020-22). Michael will join AmCham China on February 15, 2022, and will assume the President’s role on March 15. Alan Beebe will work closely with Michael during this one-month period to ensure a smooth transition, with full support from me, the Officers, and the Board of Governors.
“I am excited to be joining AmCham China, where we sit at the heart of the critical, yet challenging, US-China trade relationship. AmCham China has an outstanding team working at our offices across China and I am confident we will continue to serve our highly engaged membership base as a strong advocate for American companies in China.”– Michael Hart
Please join us in thanking Alan for his six years of leadership and service to the community, and in welcoming Michael into the new role!
