President Alan Beebe and Chairman Bill Zarit receive the award for “Large Chamber of the Year” from EventBank CEO Eric Schmidt.

Beijing, June 7, 2017 – The American Chamber of Commerce in China has been recognized as a leader among chambers in the Asia-Pacific region for success in areas such as event programming, member engagement, and impact on the business community. In the 2017 APAC International Chamber of Commerce Awards, AmCham China took home two prizes – “Large Chamber of the Year” and “Executive of the Year,” which was awarded to Maggie Huang, the Senior Director of Operations.

The Large Chamber of the Year Award recognizes a chamber that has at least 500 members and has achieved outstanding results during the past year. “It is a huge honor to receive this award on behalf of everybody at AmCham China,” said AmCham China Chairman Bill Zarit, who received the award from Eric Schmidt, CEO of award organizer EventBank

Huang, who has been with AmCham China for 12 years, also manages the chamber’s chapters in Wuhan, Shenyang, Dalian, and Tianjin. She was recognized for her extensive engagement with chapter staff and member leadership, guiding the financial results of AmCham China’s Chapters from an annual loss to a profit. “Over the last few years, we have worked really hard to support our growing membership in those chapters with more programs and signature events,” she said. “Even so, I was really surprised and honored to win this award.”
