On June 16, AmCham China Chairman Colm Rafferty and AmCham China member company executives met virtually with Vice Minister Wang Shouwen of the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).
At the meeting, Rafferty introduced the 2022 American Business in China White Paper (White Paper), the results of the Chamber’s May COVID-19 Flash Survey as well as AmCham China’s suggestions towards the further improvement of China’s foreign investment environment. Vice Minister Wang thanked AmCham China for the long-term collaboration with MOFCOM and said that AmCham China’s White Paper is an important reference for decision makers. He also emphasized the great potential of US-China economic and trade relations and that they remain strongly intertwined. He expressed the hope that AmCham China will continue to serve as a bridge between the US and China to promote greater understanding. The two sides also exchanged views on the bilateral trade and economic relationship, with both reiterating their commitments to ensure further and frequent communications.
