Campaign Statement
Dear Fellow AmCham Members,
I am William Yu, President of Honeywell China. I would like to request your support of my candidacy for the AmCham Board of Governors. If elected to the Board of Governors, I will be honored to serve the Board in ways that would be the most beneficial to our community and membership.
With the ongoing global economic challenges and geopolitical uncertainties, multinational companies are constantly adapting, competing, and thriving for new growth opportunities while managing operational risks. There has rarely been a more important time to build, foster, and support a strong and vibrant business community. That is why I have spent a good portion of my spare time to lecture at universities and other companies beyond my role at Honeywell, and I hope I could contribute more for our business community by serving the board of AmCham China. Though AmCham China’s member companies span across all industries, we all strive to succeed in China and benefit from a stable and favorable environment. My extensive experience in engagements with Chinese and US clients, partners, and government officials further confirmed my conviction that “if you want to go fast, go alone; but if you want to go far, go together.”
To go far and go together, AmCham China is an invaluable and irreplaceable platform for the foreign-invested companies. Although it’s my first time to run for the Board, Honeywell and I have been a staunch supporter of AmCham China. As a Chairman Circle member, Honeywell witnessed AmCham China’s leadership in engaging with both US and Chinese governments, driving sustainability and tech transformation initiatives, and fostering a robust business community. I have also attended AmCham China’s signature events and spoke for the importance of AmCham China at multiple occasions. It would be my great honor to further contribute my expertise and resources to support the business community through AmCham.
I commit to contribute to AmCham China by leveraging my background and resources to support initiatives and programs around sustainability and industrial transformation. I’d also like to support key events and major activities of AmCham China. It would be my great honor to listen and act on your behalf.
Thank you for your consideration and support.
