On March 20, the Southwest Chapter of AmCham China hosted a luncheon for members at the St. Regis Chengdu, marking the Embassy’s first stop in Sichuan for the month of March.
David Meale, the current Deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy in Beijing, along with Harry Thompson, Foreign Affairs Officer at the Embassy both attended on behalf of the US Embassy. Representatives from AmCham China Southwest comprised a diverse array of members, ranging from large corporations to SMEs and individual members across various industries including energy, ICT, tourism, education, and trade.
The leadership team at St. Regis Chengdu extended a warm welcome with champagne and generous hospitality. Dr. Clare McDermott, representing the Southwest Chapter’s Executive Committee, extended greetings to DCM Meale and member companies on behalf of AmCham China Southwest Chapter. She provided an overview of the chapter’s progress since its inception in October 2023. Throughout the luncheon, David Meale had the opportunity to acquaint himself with the national and regional businesses of our members and engage in discussions on topics of mutual interest.
The Southwest Chapter of AmCham China is grateful to the US Embassy for their productive engagement and steadfast support during their visits to Chengdu in November last year and March this year. Together, we are committed to enhancing the business environment in the Southwest, nurturing a vibrant American community, and contributing to the ongoing success of our members in this dynamic market.
