Matt Roberts, Dolby Laboratories
Campaign Statement
The plain truth of the matter is that we can do more together than we can apart, and there’s a lot riding on our ability to demonstrate this truth.
US companies in China show every day the value that is created through partnership, investment, innovation, teamwork and service. Problems are solved. Lives are improved. Bonds are formed. It’s not an exaggeration to say that US companies are ambassadors for the values and principles that drive progress and make the world a better place.
In the face of growing stresses on the US-China relationship, AmCham China plays a critical role. Bridging the gap of understanding between regulators, policy-makers and business executives on both sides of the ocean is a huge challenge, one that cuts to the heart of building trust.
This is AmCham’s sweet spot. Driven by a vibrant community of experienced, thoughtful professionals, representing some of the world’s most dynamic and innovative companies, AmCham China has a proud history of providing a platform for honest dialogue and substantive cooperation.
AmCham has been a big part of my career in China these past thirty years. I’ve been very fortunate to work with some amazing people through AmCham’s forums, committees, and annual white paper cycles. It would be an honor to continue that service on the AmCham Board of Governors.
