AmCham China Leadership Attends CCPIT Tour in Chongqing

On October 23, AmCham China President Michael Hart and Vice President Claire Ma attended a dinner with leaders of the Chongqing municipal government and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).

Representatives of other chambers of commerce, foreign industry associations, and multinationals were also in attendance. Earlier, AmCham China representatives and member companies attended a closed-door meeting with CCPIT Chairman Ren Hongbin and Chongqing municipal government officials.

Then, on October 24, Hart accompanied the delegation to Chongqing’s Yuzhong District, where he was able to see landmark buildings including Chongqing Raffles and World Financial Center, and understand more fully the municipality’s current investment environment.

The trip wrapped up an important week of meetings for the Chamber and its member companies in Chongqing. The southwest region is an increasingly important area of the country for AmCham China, which officially opened a Chapter in Chengdu last year.
