AmCham China’s Role: Advocating for You
AmCham China remains committed to our core mission:
- Advocating for your business interests in China, and
- Serving as a platform for constructive engagement between the US and Chinese governments.
A critical tool in these efforts is our Business Climate Survey (BCS), which we released in late January. Your feedback reinforced three key themes:
- Most members continue to see China as a market of opportunity.
- US-China relations remain a top concern for your business.
- There are areas where market access and competition remain uneven, and we are using this data to highlight needed improvements to Chinese policymakers.
In January, we shared these findings directly with both governments, including face-to-face discussions with the NDRC, the Ministry of Commerce, and the US Embassy.
Get Involved: Make Your Voice Heard
We are now in the final stages of gathering input for our annual White Paper, one of our most important advocacy tools. If you haven’t already connected with one of our industry Committees, I strongly encourage you to do so – your insights help shape our recommendations. You can reach out to your Committee manager (find contacts here) or to the team at whitepaper@amchamchina.org to ensure your concerns are represented.
Additionally, we are preparing to host our annual Appreciation Dinner at the end of February, which will be a key opportunity to engage with policymakers from both governments. While details are still being finalized, we will share more soon.
2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for cross-border trade, and AmCham China is here to support you every step of the way. Thank you for your continued engagement – we look forward to working with you in the year ahead.
Best regards,
Alvin Liu
