AmCham China, Central China Chapter held its sixth Independence Day Celebration with a Hawaiian theme at Wuhan New World Hotel on 29th June 2019. This year, this annual event attracted over 220 people from local member companies and family members. Scott Shaw, the Vice Chairman of Central China Chapter hosts the whole event in bilingual.

The event started with the traditional activities, singing the National Anthem with officials from the US consulate and cake cutting with Jamie Fouss, the Consul General in Wuhan.

All the guests for all ages of the celebration enjoyed a pleasant time by join the interaction games, including quiz for awesome prizes, traditional games (such as children’s hotdogs eating competitions and adult’s beer drinking competitions, and ‘Sack Race’) and Hawaiian teaching games on stage. It is so pleased that we have many excellent game players this year.

In addition, attendees also experienced Hawaiian decorations and an interesting game area, including face drawing, miniature of volcano eruption, game machines and so on.

The celebration party was getting in full swing when the live band played some joyful songs, and everyone started dancing.

The most exciting part for adult is still the Lucky Draw. The lucky draw prizes included one round-trip airplane tickets from Shanghai to the US provided by United Airlines, a one-night stay in Suite at Wuhan New World Hotel and buffet coupons for 2 people at the Wuhan Hilton Hotel. We congrats to every prize winner!

All in all, this year’s event was a huge success ever and was made possible by the generous support of the event’s sponsors.
