Mission Accomplished!
“To go where no AmCham China member has gone before,” was the motto for the 2019 American Ball: Mission to Mars where nearly 500 guests came to the China World Hotel to explore galaxies beyond the Milky Way, make First Contact with ETs, and enter the secret depths of Area 51 to view alien autopsies. There was also plenty of light saber action and – for those who dared – a hands-on investigation into an otherworldly creature. Fantastic auction prizes, ranging from from HP devices to private chef tables to Disney World packages were snapped up by lucky bidders. And live 10-piece band Studio 186 brought everyone to their feet with a greatest hits collection.
As the social event of the year for hundreds of attendees, the American Ball is a yearly tradition that is equally important for improving the lives of thousands of people in communities throughout China. From 2003-2018, the American Ball and AmCham China members have generously raised over 14 million RMB for China-based charities and this year we continued this philiantrophic trend with a ball that was out of this world.
On May 11, the American Ball – Mission to Mars provided an evening of outer space delights and an opportunity for guests to grab luxury travel, home, electronic, and dining packages while giving back to the local community.
