AmCham China Central China Chapter, in cooperation with China-Britain Business Council, Hong Kong Chamber Wuhan, Canadian Trade Office in Wuhan, the Netherlands Business Support Office, and Business France successfully held the “Inter-Chamber Spring Mixer” on March 29 at Paddy Field Restaurant, Horizon Shopping Center. More than 60 guests from about 40 companies attended this event.
The event began with an introduction to the chief representatives of the international trade offices, which aroused rounds of applause. Steve Carpenter, the Chairman of Central China Chapter, then delivered a speech on corporate social responsibility. It was noted that a focus on corporate social responsibility not only contributes to society, enhances employees' organizational commitment and job satisfaction, and establishes positive corporate image, but also promotes customer loyalty. Steve emplored the attending companies to care more about the “consequences and sustainability of CSR”, rather than the broadcasting of good intentions.
What followed was a speech entitled "Education – Back to Childhood", delivered by Fannie from Wuhan Montessori Academy Kindergarten. In her speech, Fannie shared the school’s teaching philosophy and objectives, which led to further discussions. Afterwards, guests took their time to catch up with old friends, make new contacts, exchange information, and expand their network while enjoying food and beverages. The atmosphere remained active and lively all night, where guests were reluctant to leave until the restaurant's last call.
