Running for: Governor
Campaign Statement
I feel passionate about serving the AmCham China members through the role of a governor. I am confident that I can serve the members well together with the other governors. I have rich experience working for the U.S. companies and serving AmCham China members. Also, being a Chinese citizen and having long-time government-affairs background will definitely help me in providing solid support to members and proposing directions for the board.
Most of my career so far was devoted to the U.S. companies, so I know them well. I worked for Eastman Kodak Company and PepsiCo. Now I'm with Cargill, another company with strong ethics, leading technology and great go-to-market strategy. However, needless to say, they all have issues related to market access, IPR, labor, etc. Over the year I have accumulated a lot of first-hand experience of dealing with the challenges companies may face, and deeply understand what works and what doesn’t for a U.S. company.
Also I know what members need. I co-founded and led for years the Food and Beverage Forum of AmCham China while at PepsiCo. Now I am co-chair of the Agriculture Forum. Both Forum represent interests of not only the big companies but also the smaller ones. I gained great amounts of insight and experience, as well as pleasure, working with and supporting them.
As a Forum leader, being able to help the members be more successful made me really happy. I believe I can do more, accomplish more and gain more if I am elected a governor of AmCham China.
