At the opening of the inaugural China CSR Awards, keynote speaker Carma Elliot, Director China of the British Council, said she was initially asked for 30 minutes of her time to judge the applications, but wound up pouring over them for hours. She was pleasantly surprised to find such dedicated, prestigious companies presenting worth projects in the first iteration of what will become an annual tradition.
The event, held March 23 at the Opposite House, was co-organized by the British Chamber of Commerce in China, the China-Britain Business Council and AmCham China to celebrate the companies that have made significant contributions to China.
