At AmCham China, our Committees play a vital role in driving advocacy, building industry relations, and fostering community development. With 26 Committees in Beijing, plus another dozen across our Chapters nationwide, we cover a wide range of industry sectors, corporate functions, and special issue-based interests to effectively represent the needs of our members and the American business community in China.

- Organized a successful virtual Human Resources Conference with over 180+ attendees.

- Currently more than 150 active members in the Committee WeChat group and 380 mailing list subscribers.

- Note: Around 20 scheduled events from the 2022 event calendar were postponed or cancelled due to COVID.

- Two meat-cutting/grading workshops with USDA grant. The first program had over 100+ participants and high-level participation from China Meat Association and the head of US Dept of Agriculture in China.
- Hosted six sustainability workshops with a grant from 永续中心. Key topics included,a briefing on MARA carbon sequestration sustainability policy and sustainability tech/investment.
- Ukraine Food Security Supply-Chain Webinar.
- Sustainability Paper/Database – collected company perspectives and best practices on sustainability that has/will be used in agriculture, food, and beverage engagement with government stakeholders on these issues.

- Built a sustainable cooperation channel with HHDRC, including monthly workshops.

Manufacturing, Customs, Supply Chain, and Sourcing (MSSC) Committee

- Held six webinars and two industry mixers.
- The webinar, “Sanctioning Russia: What You Need to Know” attracted over 370 sign-ups.
- Held three White Paper discussion meetings. Drafters from across the sector contributed excellent material for the annual 2022 White Paper
- Currently there are more than 65 individuals in the MSSC Committee WeChat group chat and the community is more active than ever.
Sports Committee

- Hosted the 4th AmCham China AseanPlus Golf Tournament.
- Hosted a Boxing Self Defense Workshop
- Hosted three sold out “Put a Fling on It” Frisbee events.
- The Salsa Party event was another creative success this year.
- Overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees of Sports Committee events this year.
SMEs & Entrepreneurs Committee

Highlights:
- The SME community requires a broader mix of networking and knowledge-sharing events than other Committees. To cater to the community’s needs, seven of this year’s events were specifically designed with member feedback in mind and maximized benefits for attendees.
- Collaborated with other Committees for events and provided members guest speaking opportunities to proactively promote themselves and develop their businesses.
- Two SME candidates ran for the 2023 Board of Governors, demonstrating the SME Community’s increased trust and willingness to become more actively involved in the Chamber.
- The SME Committee WeChat group has remained very active. In addition to sharing SME-related information, staff have also been helping answer epidemic policy and prevention questions.
Chinese Government Affairs Committee (CGAC)

Highlights:
- The six events held this year aimed to help Committee members adapt during a challenging year.
- June’s Annual Government Affairs (GA) Conference had over 200 guests attend online.
- Introduced a new session at this year’s GA Conference where three veteran GA professionals spoke on how best to evaluate GA’s work and how to further enhance internal collaborations.
- Every single Committee event attracted at least 50 attendees. Events topics included the Two Sessions, 20th Party Congress, and the Anti-Monopoly Law.
Women Professionals Committee (WPC)

Highlights:
- One of the Chamber’s most diverse Committees, the WPC hosted a variety of events from a women’s health webinar to a self-defense workshop.
- The participation rate of WPC events remained high, and continued to draw attention to the importance of females in leadership positions.
- There are more than 110 individuals in the WPC WeChat group chat, with many becoming involved with the Chamber from WPC activities and community sharing.
ICT Committee

Highlights:
- The 2022 Technology and Innovation (T&I) Summit, held in close consultation with the ICT Committee, was one of the most successful T&I Summits of the past years. It was also the first offline signature event since the COVID pandemic.
- For other regular events, there were at least 30 attendees at every event.
- The ICT Committee’s WeChat group chat has over 145 active members, and has become one of the most popular Chamber WeChat
- According to feedback from the Member Satisfaction Survey, the ICT Committee was the most active industry Committee and the third most active Committee among all Committees and Cooperation Programs.
Legal Affairs Committee

Highlights:
- Co-Chair Charles Shi contributed significantly, from White Paper drafting and kick-off meetings, to helping to organize events such as the Universal cycling tour and screenings.
- The Committee has many small-scale member companies who have helped to develop events that attract specific Committee members and shift the Committee’s strategy to engage more of the community.
- New events received positive feedback and a lot of attention from non-members who expressed their interest in joining AmCham China.
Marketing, Advertising, and PR Committee
