AmCham China recently concluded its first cohosted business trip across the US with the NDRC-ICC and US Chamber. The 12-day trip took a delegation of 40 top executives from Chinese private companies to Washington DC, New York City, New Haven and Boston.
The group met with high-level US government officials in DC, including Under Secretary for International Trade Stefan Selig and Deputy US Trade Representative Robert Holleyman. The program also took the group to a think-tank discussion, three NGO meetings and the headquarters of member companies Carlyle Group in DC, Akamai and State Street in Boston and MetLife (pictured), Goldman Sachs and Long Bridge in New York.
The trip creates a new way for Chinese private companies that would like to expand globally to learn more about the US business and investment environment and look for partners and M&A opportunities. The project builds another bridge between AmCham China members and the Chinese business community to further promote bilateral trade and investment.
