This week, AmCham China – Tianjin invited a panel of industry experts to the Ritz-Carlton, Tianjin to address member concerns regarding government audits, tax law for expats in China, and common mistakes companies make in attempting to prevent human resources challenges. The panel included distinguished speakers such as Simon Bai – Partner at Chenyi Law Firm, Vivienne Jin, Of Counsel at Rui Bai Law Firm, and Huan Wang, Tax Partner at Deloitte. Each speaker gave a 20-minute presentation on a topic of concern, and made themselves available for questions afterwards. Martin Winchell, Chairman of AmCham China – Tianjin moderated the panel and familiarized members with each speakers’ area of expertise.

With a turnout of over 30 attendees, it was clear that members were highly engaged by this topic. Michael Hart, Vice-Chairman of AmCham China, Tianjin remarked, “The event highlighted some important HR and tax-related issues which companies need to be aware of. The speakers also shared some case studies and examples that were interesting and helpful.”

During the Q&A, attendees were afforded the opportunity to talk to each speaker directly while enjoying refreshments provided by the Ritz-Carlton, Tianjin staff. The informal nature of the Q&A encouraged networking among attendees and strengthened connections within AmCham China – Tianjin’s business community.
