On the morning of April 8, the delegation, along with over 50 representatives from local enterprises, government, and local industrial parks and zones, attended the “International Roundtable Meeting on Energy Transition and Innovative Cooperation” held in Lianyungang.
During the event, Qu Guangdong, General Manager of Honeywell’s Sustainability Business in China, delivered a presentation titled “Energy Transition and Innovative Technology Case Study: Sustainable Aviation Fuel Technology and Case Sharing.” Liu Zhongyong, Chief Hydrogen Energy Expert at Bureau Veritas, followed with a keynote speech on “Green Fuel Certification: Paving the Way for SAF to Enter the Global Market.” Kong Mingmin, Senior Engineer at Eaton China’s Power Distribution Systems and Services Division, introduced “Smart Energy: Microgrid Solutions for Solar, Storage, and Charging.” Finally, Chen Shuo, CEO of the London Hydrogen Hub, shared insights in his presentation “Zero-Carbon City Planning and Investment Solutions.”
Experts and local enterprises engaged in discussions on emerging opportunities and challenges associated with the energy transition process. Representatives from international companies also shared their respective areas of expertise, expressed their interests, and reflected on key takeaways from the visit. The meeting also served as a valuable platform for initial networking and exploratory dialogue on potential collaboration.
The delegation carried out on-site visits and research at multiple key locations, including Lianyungang Jiaao New Energy (a joint SAF initiative by Honeywell and Jiaao), Lianyungang Xuwei New Area Petrochemical Industrial Base, Yancheng Dafeng Zero-Carbon Industrial Park, Xifuhe Green and Low-Carbon Technology Innovation Park, Norsepower, China Automotive Technology & Research Center (CATARC) Yangtze River Delta (Yancheng) Intelligent Connected Vehicle Test Site, Goldwind Technology, Jiangsu Yueda Kia Motors (third plant in Yancheng Economic Development Zone) and Tongwei Solar Technology Yancheng Base. These site visits offered the delegation a comprehensive understanding of Jiangsu Province’s advanced practices and innovative progress in energy transition and green development.
The Jiangsu Energy Business Outreach marked the Energy Industry Group’s first provincial-level initiative of 2025. Delegates participating in the outreach and roundtable discussions actively shared insights into the opportunities emerging in Jiangsu amid the ongoing energy transition, while also addressing key policy and technical challenges associated with transformation and innovation. The research activities focused on international energy cooperation, with particular emphasis on the experiences, opportunities, and challenges of US-China collaboration at the provincial and municipal levels. Through in-depth exchanges, participants explored new avenues for innovation-driven cooperation. Topics such as energy transition, low-carbon urban development, and the development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) were discussed extensively, laying a strong foundation for participating enterprises to deepen their understanding of Jiangsu and China’s energy transformation landscape and to identify future opportunities for international collaboration.
