AmCham China Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding with the China Center for Food and Drug International Exchange to harness both government and industry resources in supporting capacity building and international exchange. The center is part of the China Food and Drug Administration, and the collaboration will involve AmCham China sister organizations the US-China Health Cooperation Program (HCP) and US-China Agriculture and Food Partnership (AFP).
“Industry is uniquely positioned to bring technology, standards, best practices, and training assets to the table to support the continuous improvement of safety and quality of food and medical products,” James Zimmerman, Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in China, said at the signing ceremony. “By strengthening cooperation in these areas, we also hope to promote innovation and to identify important areas for more focused research and collaboration going forward.”
