The AmCham China Central China Chapter hosted the 8th American Business Dialogue with Wuhan Government & 2024 China Business Climate Survey Report Wuhan Launch at the New World Hotel on February 29.
Michael Hart, President of AmCham China, members of the AmCham China Central China Chapter Executive Committee, nearly 30 company representatives, and representatives from the US Consulate General in Wuhan all attended this event. The event was hosted by Central China Executive Committee member Jun Hu. Hart delivered opening remarks to kick off the event. In his speech, he highlighted the long history of interaction between the local government and the Central China Chapter, expressed optimism about the future development prospects of foreign enterprises in Wuhan, and called for frequent communication and further cooperation.
Zhi Zhang, Director of the Wuhan Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau, delivered the first keynote speech. She stated that Wuhan attached great importance to investment promotion and enterprise services, and had recently established the Wuhan Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau to serve as a facilitator for local foreign enterprises. She went on to urge representatives and foreign enterprises to maintain an optimistic attitude towards Wuhan, invest in Wuhan, and continue to develop in Wuhan.
Following this, speakers from Wuhan Yangtze International School and Synopsys (Wuhan) shared business insights, followed by a discussion with the local government representatives. Relevant departments, including the Wuhan Education Bureau, Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information, and Wuhan Science and Technology Innovation Bureau, actively responded to the questions and indicated their willingness to improve related services for foreign enterprises. The session was followed by a break where guests and government officials were able to engage and connect.
The second session, the 2024 China Business Climate Survey Report Wuhan Launch was opened by Steve Carpenter, Chairman of the AmCham China Central China Chapter Executive Committee. In his remarks he expressed gratitude to guests and members for their continuous support for the development of the Central China Chapter.
Michael Hart returned to deliver a keynote speech, providing a detailed interpretation of the 2024 China Business Climate Survey Report and offering an in-depth explanation of the data in the report.
Harts remarks were followed by a the Q&A session, where members were able to raise questions about the report. AmCham China Central China Chapter will continue to serve as a bridge and provide more targeted services to our member companies. Additionally, we will persist in monitoring changes in the business environment in Central China and supporting the success of American companies.
