On October 22, AmCham China’s Chairman’s Circle members gathered at the China World Summit Wing in Beijing for an exclusive, off-the-record event focused on the evolving geopolitical landscape and its implications for global business. The event featured a keynote briefing from Professor Da Wei, a leading authority on China-US relations and international security. Professor Da, who is the Director of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University, provided an in-depth analysis of the emerging geopolitical trends that are reshaping the global business environment.
With 26 senior leaders in attendance, including AmCham China Chair Emeritus William Zarit, who delivered the opening remarks, the event served as a platform for high-level dialogue on how businesses can navigate these critical challenges.
In his briefing, Professor Da underscored China’s pivotal role in shaping the future of international relations amid ongoing global transformations. He examined the “knowns and unknowns” that business leaders must grapple with in an increasingly complex and unpredictable geopolitical landscape, offering practical insights into how China might navigate various challenges in the near future. His expert analysis provided actionable advice on how companies can prepare for and adapt to these uncertainties.
Following the keynote, attendees – who included CEOs and VPs from leading multinational corporations – participated in a Q&A session. This allowed for deeper exploration of key issues such as global governance, China’s evolving role on the world stage, and strategies businesses can employ to mitigate risks and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
The event concluded with a cocktail reception, providing attendees with further opportunities for networking and discussion.
