AmCham China’s Southwest Chapter, established in October 2023, played a pivotal role in organizing this event. As the youngest chapter, it has quickly become a central hub for daily operations, member services, and engagement activities in the region, focusing on collaboration, insights sharing, business development, and government relations.
During the event, AmCham China leadership including Chair Sean Stein, Southwest Chapter Chair Jeffrey Bernstein, and members of the Southwest Chapter Executive Committee, engaged in meaningful discussions with Sichuan Government leaders and our member company representatives. This event underscored the importance of the continued growth of the business environment and highlighted the support and attention our member companies have received from Sichuan over the years.
The 2024 American Business in China White Paper (White Paper), a flagship product of AmCham China, was a central focus of the discussions. This annual report encapsulates our members’ collective insights on China’s current business climate, outlines our official stance on key issues affecting the American business community in China, and serves as an assessment of policy and regulatory progress across 20 industries. It is an essential tool for dialogue and engagement with both the US and Chinese governments.
In addition to the event, while visiting Sichuan, AmCham China Chair Sean Stein had a separate White Paper Delivery Meeting with Yang Xingping, Vice Governor of the People’s Government of Sichuan Province, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of China ZhiGong Party, and Chairman of the Sichuan Committee of China ZhiGong Party. This meeting further highlighted the importance of the White Paper and reinforced our commitment to ongoing dialogue and cooperation with the Sichuan Provincial Government.
