“The COVID-19 pandemic has forever changed the way we work. Its most significant impact has come in the form of offering professionals and businesses a more flexible workplace. As many as 45 percent of global jobs once located in an in-person or office setting have gone at least partly remote during the past two-and-a-half years, according to polling agencies, and many of those positions will remain in a hybrid or fully remote role as the pandemic subsides.”
Allan Gabor, President of Merck China/ EVP Electronics at Merck
“Trust in the company, both inside and outside needs to be established ahead of time. At the moment of the crisis you need to be sure you already have the trust currency, that you’ve been building up with your stakeholders and colleagues for some time. Trust is then the foundation that allows you to work through the crisis. It doesn’t mean you will have all the answers, but when colleagues trust each other they feel empowered to come together and effectively leverage their combined wisdom to deal with a situation.”
Jayne Leung, VP & Head of Greater China at Meta
“You have to be bold and willing to take risks sometimes in order to achieve great results. When it comes to working with our clients and partners, we see they are also embracing this agile mindset and are willing to test and learn with our new tools and solutions, and this is beneficial for other parts of the business, too.”
Fernando Vallina, Chairman at ExxonMobil (China) Investment Co., Ltd.
“The China market continues to offer tremendous opportunity for further growth. Building on our strong heritage, together we will capture such opportunities, grow our business further and embrace a brighter future. We have operated in China for more than a century, and our commitment to this strategic market has not changed.”
