Exploring Green Corporate Leadership at McDonald’s Zero-Carbon Restaurant and Shougang Park
On October 18, AmCham China President Michael Hart and Vice President Claire Ma led a member company delegation on a site visit to McDonald’s Zero-Carbon Restaurant and Shougang Park as part of the 2024-2025 Social Impact Initiative programming.
Following the tour, participants engaged in a discussion focused on corporate green initiatives. AmCham China President Michael Hart opened the session with remarks, followed by a keynote from Wakai. Dong Liu and other corporate representatives shared actionable insights on effective sustainability practices and energy conservation strategies, contributing to a lively discussion on corporate responsibility and environmental stewardship.
The day concluded with a guided tour of Shougang Park’s revitalized landmarks, including Big Air Shougang and Blast Furnace No. 3, illustrating how industrial heritage can transform through sustainable development.
AmCham China launched the innovative Social Impact Initiative (SII) in July 2020. The core principle driving this Initiative is our belief that the private sector has a meaningful role to play in helping China achieve its development goals, and that AmCham China members are uniquely qualified to assist.
With the spirit of sharing, commitment, collaboration, and engagement in win-win cooperation, we will continue to explore new public-private partnership opportunities in the realms of digital economy, green development, and rural revitalization.
