Job Overview:

Help develop, promote, and execute US Chamber China Center advocacy and programs relating to US trade and investment and regulatory policy with China, focusing on supply chains, infrastructure, energy, and agriculture.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Track, report, and convene China Center members on trade, investment, and commercial policy developments with China in key sectors.
  • Contribute content for nightly policy updates, newsletters, and the website.
  • Draft and present Chamber officers and member companies with narrative and statistical analyses on China trade and foreign investment trends.
  • Craft positions and advance policy advocacy by preparing meeting briefings, testimony, speeches, position papers, and other materials for government officials, corporate members, policy committees, media outlets, and the general public.
  • Assist with missions, program development, speaker recruitment, communications, and research.
  • Respond to business advisory inquiries.
  • Support efforts to expand membership.

 

Requirements:

  • An advanced degree and at least 5 years’ experience working with China trade and investment policy issues.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in English, both written and oral.
  • Strong Chinese language skills, including the ability to read and analyze regulations, news, and other primary source materials in Chinese.
  • Ability to work productively as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with PRC government practices, policies, and structure.
  • Knowledge of the US business community operating in the China marketplace.
  • Willingness to travel overseas.
  • Executive or legislative branch experience with trade and investment policy formulation toward China preferred.
  • Experience in energy and/or agricultural trade policy toward China preferred.
  • Fundraising or business development experience preferred.

 

The salary range for this position is $85,744.00 to $90,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits including healthcare, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
