On October 29, candidates for the 2021 & 2022 AmCham China, Tianjin Executive Committee kicked off the voting process with a referendum as part of the monthly executive breakfast meeting at the Shangri-la Hotel, Tianjin. Moderated by Martin Winchell, Chairman of the Referendum Committee, the candidates expressed their views on the following questions:
- What does AmCham mean to you?
- Grand strategy and day to day tactics are two major services of AmCham. In your opinion, where should the majority of investment be?
- AmCham is proud of its cooperative tradition, tight-knit community, and constructive communication. What would you do to continue and strengthen these traditions?
- How would you do your elevator pitch to a potential AmCham member or an unsubscribed member?
As mentioned by multiple candidates, AmCham China, Tianjin draws its strength from a diverse community of members. Although coming from a wide variety of industries with distinct backgrounds, the candidates share a commitment to dialogue, cooperation, and service to flourish the international business community in Tianjin and beyond. Undoubtfully, issue and environment-responding strategy play an essential role in AmCham China’s work, as demonstrated by its annual White Paper and policy-specific programs and events. On the other hand, it is equally important to develop a good understanding of businesses’ local needs to best serve as individual chapters, and the Tianjin chapter’s Executive Committee would strive to build strong relationships, connect valued resources, and advocate for our members’ interests.
