While 89% of AmCham China member companies in the financial services industry expect some level of market growth in 2020 vs. 2019, when assessing their 2020 plans at the end of last year, only 42% said they were planning to increase investments this year. This disconnect may in part be explained by outstanding skepticism towards the Chinese regulatory environment and deep-seated pessimism about US-China relations, as expressed via the survey results.
