Campaign Statement
My name is Su Cheng Harris-Simpson, this year I am most honored to be elected by you to serve on the Board, thank you. I am running for the AmCham China Board of Governor position and I humbly again ask for your vote.
Living and working in China for over 20 plus years, I have always been an active member and have always served in leadership positions on Committees and Forums.
I a proud to report that I spearheaded the Membership Task Force on the Board to focused on the restructuring of the membership categories and pricing to better align benefits for members and provide more opportunities to recruit potential members. Also, for the last two years SCHSAsia partnered with AmCham in creating another successful signature event the "Women’s Economy Summit". It is signature events such as this that bring together the AmCham community be more diverse and inclusive for positive change. I was instrumental in helping to secure the Keynote speaker, Dr. Kai-Fu Lee for the 1st AmCham Technology and Innovation Summit, again, supporting to create another signature event for the benefits of our members.
AmCham, as a member driven organization it is critical to have diverse members and voices in order for sustainable growth, if elected again I will continue to strongly advocate for actionable changes that will lead to strengthening and increasing that diversity of voices, value for your membership and engagements. I will also proactively contribute to bringing the AmCham community together through deriving opportunities for productive and engaging communication as well as dynamic events and services to benefit all members.
Through my passion and expertise, I am committed to working with and supporting AmCham to continue to grow in China. With a focus on innovation and building diversity within the AmCham programs, I believe that I can drive an increase in memberships (inclusive of SME's and Entrepreneurs, as well as corporate). I will use my experience and talent in the areas of creative marketing, fundraising, promotion and sales, to enhance the AmCham Agenda.

Biography
Su Cheng Harris Simpson is a current member of AmCham China’s Board of Governors, and is the Founder and CEO of SCHSAsia with over 20 years of experience in China. Su Cheng has been actively involved in the Beijing business community, managing projects and serving the needs for a number of destinations, not-for-profit organizations, community organizations, and bilateral associations in the areas of strategic event management, fundraising, public and media relations, promotion and marketing.
Before becoming an entrepreneur she was engaged in the corporate arena and held management positions at The Boeing Company, United Technologies Corporation, and The Capital Club in Beijing.
At United Technologies Corporation in China, Su Cheng was as the Corporate Projects Manager supporting the Operating Divisions, Corporate Headquarters and UTIO China in matters of internal coordination, quality improvement processes and overall China strategies. Prior to that role, Su Cheng was the Marketing Director for The Capital Club in Beijing managing a budget of over $1 million U.S. dollars where she developed and implemented marketing strategies and club activities while providing leadership, training, and guidance to her team. As a Buyer and Requirements Specialist for The Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington, Su Cheng negotiated supplier contracts, worked as a vendor liaison, and formulated administrative procedures for the departments.
Su Cheng has a MBA with emphasis in Marketing and International Business from Seattle Pacific University, Seattle, WA and a BA from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA in 1989. Since moving to China in 1996, Su Cheng has forged relationships with the American, British, Japanese and Australian Chambers of Commerce, the U.S.-China Business Council, the U.S. Embassy and a range of Beijing civic groups. An active member of the community, Su Cheng served on the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham) for three years, and served as Vice Chair in 2002 and 2003. She currently serves as Co-Chair of AmCham China Women’s Professional Committee; Advisory Board Member of Dell Women Entrepreneur’s Network and the Beijing Chapter President of The University of Washington Alumni Association in China.
