White Paper Delivery Meeting with CPAFFC
October 17 — AmCham China President Michael Hart led a delegation to the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) to present the 2024 American Business in China White Paper (White Paper).

October 20 — At this year’s Annual Conference of Financial Street Forum in Beijing, themed “Trust and Confidence – Discussing Financial Opening and Cooperation,” President Hart delivered a keynote speech to an audience of over 500 guests from more than 30 countries. Topics included finance supporting high-quality development, building a low-carbon future, and promoting global sustainable growth.
20 Years of US-China Aviation Cooperation
October 21 — Nicholas Burns, the US Ambassador to China, hosted the US-China Aviation Cooperation Program (ACP) Reception in his residence honoring the US-China aviation relationship and celebrating AmCham China’s ACP’s 20th anniversary. A distinguished 45-member delegation from China’s government and aviation industry was led by Han Jun, Deputy Administrator of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). Key US representatives, including Melanie Harvey, TSA Executive Assistant Administrator, and Stephanie Metzger, TSA Regional Director of Asia Pacific, also attended, along with prominent leaders from the US aviation sector.
Roundtable with NDRC and Chongqing Municipal Government Officials
October 21 – President Hart led a delegation of member companies to Chongqing for a closed-door roundtable hosted by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). Hart led the dialogue with Chongqing Party Secretary Yuan Jiajun. Chongqing Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor Hu Henghua was also in attendance.
White Paper Delivery Meeting with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology
October 29 — President Hart and Vice President Claire Ma led a delegation of member company representatives to meet with Vice Minister Xiong Jijun of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The delegation formally presented the 2024 White Paper. During the meeting, they addressed key issues affecting American businesses operating in China, and discussed policy recommendations to enhance the business environment.
White Paper Delivery Meeting with the China National Intellectual Property Administration
October 31 — AmCham China’s leadership along with a group of member company representatives met with Lu Pengqi, Deputy Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). During the meeting, President Hart presented Mr. Lu with a copy of the White Paper and raised relevant intellectual property-related issues at the subsequent meeting.
