James Zimmerman, Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in China:
AmCham China supports the streamlining of laws and regulations that impact foreign-invested companies and the way they operate in China. We also support a revision of the law that will ease the approval procedures for the establishment and operation of foreign-invested enterprises in China, as well as to provide for greater market access and the reduction of trade barriers that impact American companies.
AmCham China appreciates the opportunity to provide comments to the Ministry of Commerce with respect to the draft Foreign Investment Law, and we applaud the government’s efforts to be both transparent and to seek public opinion in the law drafting process.
Our member companies are in the process of reviewing the draft law and may have additional comments that we will submit to MOFCOM in due course.
