The Southwest Chapter was joined by AmCham China President Michael Hart, Jeffrey Bernstein, Chair of the AmCham China Southwest Chapter, members of the AmCham China Southwest Chapter Executive Committee, and over 30 member company representatives for the Chapter’s official launch of the 2024 BCS. We were honored to have leaders from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Sichuan Council, Foreign Affairs Office of Sichuan Province, and Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Economic Cooperation also join us.
Bernstein delivered a welcome speech, followed by Hart’s presentation on the methodology and key findings of the 2024 BCS. The discussion covered various topics including financial performance, business outlook, US-China relations, talent retention, and ESG practices.
The panel discussion, also moderated by Bernstein, further explored corporate ESG strategies, Southwest regional advantages for foreign investment, technology transfer, and more, engaging with the audience and addressing their inquiries.
Albemarle Factory Tour
Following the BCS Report launch, attendees visited the Albemarle Meishan Manufacturing Site. The tour began at the Albemarle Exhibition Hall, where Nancy Tang, Albemarle China ESG Manager, provided insights into Albemarle’s history, businesses, global presence, and its Meishan facility. Guests gained a deeper understanding of Albemarle’s culture, mission, and operational efficiency.
