On March 15, AmCham China, Tianjin brought members together for a festive morning celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, featuring Irish-themed cuisine, networking, and cultural exchange. The event combined fun with purpose, highlighting the Chamber’s commitment to community engagement and wellness.
Marcus Williams, Chair of AmCham China, Tianjin, opened the event by introducing the Culture and Lifestyle Committee and sharing insights into the cultural significance of St. Patrick’s Day. Humphrey Wang, Co-Chair of the Culture and Lifestyle Committee and Owner and Chef of Smoki & Co, then led an interactive cooking session where members learned how to prepare a traditional Irish salad.
In a segment focused on health and giving back, long-time Tianjin resident Peter Mecoy, who has donated blood over 300 times, shared his experience and provided guidance on how foreigners in Tianjin and across China can participate in blood donation. Peter has played a pivotal role in encouraging and assisting many expats with their first donations.
