On June 28, AmCham China’s highly anticipated event, “Touchdown ‘n Hustle: AmCham China Flag Football,” made a triumphant return. The event attracted sports enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels, offering an exciting opportunity to learn about and enjoy the game of flag football.
Flag football, a variant of American football, took center stage during the event. Unlike traditional American football, flag football emphasizes the removal of a flag or flag belt from the ball carrier instead of tackling to end a down. This modification ensures a safer and more recreational gameplay experience while retaining the core elements of the sport.
The history of flag football can be traced back to the early 1940s during World War II when it was initially introduced as “Touch and Tail football.” The game was designed as a recreational sport for American military personnel, aiming to keep them fit while reducing the risk of injuries during wartime. After the war, it evolved into the popular sport known as flag football today.
The event featured Ke Li, Head Coach at PHC, who shared his expertise and passion for the sport, guiding participants through an exciting evening of flag football.
The latest “Touchdown ‘n Hustle: AmCham China Flag Football Day” attracted a vibrant crowd for an evening filled with fun, offering participants a memorable experience on the field.
