AmCham China took part in the US Executive Roundtable Discussion with Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker and Energy Deputy Secretary Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall on April 12 in Beijing. The roundtable was in conjunction with the Smart Cities – Smart Growth Business Development Mission to China from April 12-17, led by Pritzker and Sherwood-Randall. The goal of this trade mission is to increase cooperation between the US and China in the area of green technology and clean energy. The roundtable gave Pritzker and Sherwood-Randall the chance to hear from leaders of US companies active in the Chinese clean energy industry to discuss opportunities and challenges for energy policy, smart cities and environmental protection in China.

The roundtable was led by AmCham China Chairman James Zimmerman, and the following representatives also participated: Yvonne Huang of BrightSource Energy, Jeff Zhu of Cabot Corporation, Brad Gammons of IBM China, Jing Ulrich of JPMorgan Chase, Will Latta of LP Amina, Shi Zhenchun of Peabody, Perry Zheng of United Technologies and Bruce D. Schlueter of Westinghouse Electric.
