On August 18, AmCham China Chairman James Zimmerman led a delegation to meet with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Assistant Minister Zheng Zeguang to deliver the 2015 White Paper.

During the meeting, Zheng shared details about the preparations going into next month's visit between President Xi and Obama. He expressed his hopes for a historic and productive meeting, and the need for both sides to strive for a positive outcome.

Zheng and the AmCham China representatives discussed the current investment and economic situations between the US and China and the challenges that recent events will pose to the meeting. Zheng expressed willingness to address and overcome these challenges. The discourse then shifted to what the business community can do to support a successful visit.

Zheng also gave a few updates on the upcoming exchange of revised negative lists and reiterated China’s commitment to the Third Plenum reform agenda.
