On May 11, AmCham China, Tianjin hosted a seminar for young professionals designed to teach them how to excel at every step of the interview process. Daniel Konold, director at Culturalbility, and Henry Tippie, owner of Thrive Consulting, each highlighted a different aspect of the interview process and gave attendees insider knowledge on how to strengthen their candidacy for any job they apply to.
Daniel Konold, director at Culturalbility, does a deep dive into the intricacies of tailoring a resume for different jobs.
After taking the time to familiarize himself with attendees, Daniel examined every facet of the resume. From its basic presentation, to what content should be included or omitted, Daniel presented an interactive deep dive into what employers see when they look at resumes. The presentation emphasized that resumes are not static documents and even the smallest details surrounding word choice and the order in which information is presented can have a large effect on the impact a resume makes.
Henry focused his presentation on interviews, and what candidates can do to not only prepare for but also excel during interviews. An important aspect that Henry highlighted was knowing how to get the information you want without jeopardizing your candidacy. This includes how to ask about salaries, benefits, and other important issues with tact.
Henry Tippie, owner of Thrive Consulting, briefs the audience on critical steps to take when preparing for an interview.
The presentations were followed by a Q&A session and networking, replete with snacks courtesy of Fish and Potato Co. The content was well-received and this event looks to be first in a series that will focus on professional development for employees, executives, and young professionals. AmCham China, Tianjin would like to sincerely thank Henry and Daniel for their participation.
